"Art can do a lot but doesn't have to do anything, so it's all the better that art can enrich our lives and our homes."
The Story behind the paintings
I started painting when I was about 10 years old. At that time, I attended an art school where I was able to fulfil my creative streak. During this time, I already had different phases in my artistic work. Initially, I preferred to paint flowers, but later I focussed exclusively on animals for a while, especially cats, horses and dogs. However, these preferences did not last, as my artistic interests changed over time.
After a break of more than 12 years, I rediscovered an old hobby during the Corona pandemic and I started to live out my passion for painting again.
Having previously appreciated realistic art, I have now also developed a passion for abstract art, which I have been exploring and living out more intensively since 2021.
The fascination for abstract art stems from my longing for a new form of creative freedom and expression. While realistic painting often captures the visible, abstraction allows me to delve into the depths of my own emotions and thoughts. It offers a platform to communicate my innermost feelings and ideas in a very personal way, without being restricted by concrete representations.
It is this freedom of interpretation and the endless variety of expression that has drawn me into the world of abstract art and inspires me to delve deeper into it.
The styles of my paintings vary and often diverge from one another. Are there strict rules in art? Must one adhere strictly to a single style? I don't believe so. For me, the essence lies in the creative flow, in experimentation, in learning and evolving continually. Today's approach might differ from tomorrow's, and that's perfectly fine. This versatility enables constant growth and learning, facilitating exploration of new techniques and the joy of creating beautiful things.
